Thangjuk exhibits ancient Rock Art
A FAM trip to a colossal collection of ancient rock art of 1000-2000 years was organised at Thangjuk Rock Art Garden on September 30.
Thangjuk Rock Art Garden propagates the existence of some of the classic and rare kinds of ancient rock art which speaks highly of the primitive human history of Ladakh. The trip aims to promote tourism in the Shaam region.
Tsetan Angchuk, President ALTOA; Dorjey Stumpa, President, Taxi Union; Executive members of Hotel Association and some other art lovers were present.
Stanzin Thangjuk said that the Shaam region particularly the lower Indus belt possesses a chain of ancient rock art of varied figures. This can be a great attraction to pull-in tourists as well as anthropologists to Shaam region across the world.
He stressed the need for propagating this art to the world which will not only help in promoting tourism in the region but will also boost the local economy.
The visitors were hugely impressed on their visit and urged to keep these values and heritage well preserved.
