SpiceJet starts dedicated cargo services in Ladakh
SpiceJet started its dedicated air cargo service to Ladakh, thus improving the supply of all types of goods including fruits and vegetables in the winter months.
The freighter Spice Express, Boeing 737-700 carrying 13-ton goods landed successfully at Kushok Bakula Rinpoche Airport, Leh on November 26.
While talking to the media, MP Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal expressed gratitude to the SpiceJet and Government of India for starting the cargo service to Ladakh which is very crucial in winter months when the National Highway is closed. He said that with this, all the necessary goods including fruits and vegetables will be transported and people will be highly benefited from it.
Not just transporting the essential commodities, the freighter will provide a big boost to all the traders and local businesses, he added.
He further hopes that in the coming days all other airlines will also start its cargo services in Ladakh.
