SDM, Zanskar, Sonam Dorjay along with OC Project Yojak Capt. Aviral Tripathi, Assistant Executive Engineer, JEs, PWD, Tehsil Supply Officer Zanskar and Sarpanch of Kargaik visited Lungnak Block on May 7.

The officials identified land for the establishment of New Diets and RCC camps for the newly sanctioned project Yojak for the construction of Nimmo Padum–Darcha (NPD) road. The land was identified in villages Anmu, Cha, Kuru, Kargaik, Lakhan and Sinkula Top.

SDM Zanskar also reviewed the progress of ongoing works of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). Public delegations also met the SDM at Kargaik, Tangze, Kuru and Cha.

The residents raised various issues in their respective villages including land composition, link roads, irrigation canals, completion of roads sanctioned under various schemes and the opening of the LPG Gas Sale Centre at Kargaik.

Due to water scarcity at Tangze and Cha, the residents couldn’t cultivate their fields to date. SDM Zanskar assured the delegations that all the genuine public issues will be resolved by the concerned department while the major issues will be submitted to higher authorities.
