Highlighting the precautionary measures of COVID-19, Asgar Ali, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Drass convened a meeting with the religious heads on March 18 at SDM Office, Drass.
 
He appealed all the religious heads to avoid religious gatherings in their respective mosques and other religious places till the revocation of Section 144 CrPC. 
 
Section 144 CrPC is imposed by the District Magistrate Kargil restricting the gathering/assembly of more than 5 people to contain the spread of Corona Virus in the interest of the health of the general public.
 
Religious heads assured the SDM to extend their full cooperation to the administration in view of the prevailing situation. They also assured that they will aware the people to abstain from such gatherings by making public announcements from their respective mosques.
 
Asgar Ali extended his gratitude to all the religious heads for their cooperation to tackle the prevailing situation.
 
Preventive measures like washing hands frequently with soap and water cover nose and mouth with handkerchief or tissue while sneezing and coughing, avoiding eating or drinking cold stuff, gargle with warm and saltwater and to avoid participation in large gatherings was also highlighted during the meeting.
