Outsourced pharmacists from Kargil meets L-G for contract extension

A delegation of outsourced pharmacists from Kargil, engaged under the National Health Mission (NHM) led by Syed Sadiq, met Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat on June 28.

Syed Sadiq,informed the Lieutenant Governor that the pharmacists were engaged under NHM in 2019 on a monthly salary of Rs. 15,000. He also mentioned that the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Office had intimated them about the end of their contract by June-end. The delegation requested an extension of their contracts.

The Lieutenant Governor explained that the contracts of all outsourced employees in various departments of UT Ladakh were ending and that there would be a call for fresh contracts with vendors. This process would ensure that employees are engaged on an outsourced basis to meet the needs of government departments. He assured that a lawful procedure would be followed for the engagement of vendors and subsequently of outsourced employees, ensuring that all eligible candidates have an equal chance to be selected.
