One-day awareness event on PM Vishwakarma yojana held at Baroo, Kargil

The MSME Development and Facilitation Office (DFO) Jammu organized one-day awareness program on the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana (PM Vishwakarma) at the Conference Hall, Baroo, on March 20, aimed at informing local artisans and less-registered trades about the scheme’s benefits and processes.

The event witnessed participation from key officials including G. Velladurai, Joint Director, MSME DFO Jammu; Rajesh Kumar, IEDS Assistant Director, MSME DFO Jammu; Abdul Hadi, Chief Planning Officer Kargil; Rahmatullah Batt, General Manager, DIC Kargil; Mudassir Rahowf, FM DIC Kargil; Abdi Ali, Superintendent, ITI Kargil; Gulzar Ahmad, Lead District Manager; Zeeshan, Representative from J&K Bank Cluster; along with CSCs Managers, Nodal Officers for PM Vishwakarma, and local artisans.

Rajesh Kumar delivered a comprehensive presentation on the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. He highlighted the significance of Udyam registration, the process of availing financial assistance through PMEGP, and how artisans can enrol for exhibition stalls via the ‘MY MSME’ portal.
Speaking on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Abdul Hadi, CPO Kargil, appreciated the initiative and encouraged local entrepreneurs to take full advantage of such awareness programs.

The Lead District Manager elaborated on the role of banks in facilitating access to credit and financial services under the scheme, while the Superintendent of ITI Kargil shared details on available training programs, including 120-hour advanced skill training and modules on financial and digital literacy.

An interactive session followed, where participants raised important queries, which were addressed by the attending officials.

Joint Director G. Velladurai reaffirmed the department’s commitment to supporting the MSME ecosystem in Ladakh, urging artisans to stay connected with the Project Management Unit (PMU) team for ongoing assistance.

Rahmatullah Batt, GM DIC Kargil, thanked MSME DFO Jammu for organising the event and emphasized the crucial role of nodal officers in implementing MSME schemes at the grassroots. He also advised participants to ensure their Aadhaar details are updated to avoid registration issues.

The event was efficiently conducted by Mudassir Rahowf, FM DIC Kargil, and concluded on a positive and promising note.
