\r\nWith an aim to strengthen the NC party in Leh, a meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Nasir Aslam Wani, Provincial President, NC Srinagar on September 21 at Hotel Singge Palace, Leh.\r\n

\r\nThe NC party President and workers met and address their issues to Nasir Aslam. They also welcome the elected NC, Block executive members of Chushot, Korzok and new members.\r\n

\r\nNasir Aslam Wani, Provincial President, NC Srinagar said that from the very beginning NC has given Leh as a priority, Omar Abdullah has aimed the development of Leh on priority and we can see many things which have been done during the power of National Conference in J&K.\r\n

\r\nTalking about the various problem of Ladakh, he said that the tunnel to connect Ladakh was inaugurated during NC term but its execution has not started yet. He said that he will address the grievances to the higher level so that they can solve the issues of the people.\r\n

\r\n

\r\nHe requested the executives of NC to make the office functional which can help to strengthen the role of the party among the public and address the grievances from grass root level to the higher authority. \r\n

\r\nTsering Angchuk, Secretary, NC, Leh alleged that the present govt. has been withdrawing all the things which government has provided for the people. At first, they smartly withdraw the subsidy on ration leaving the people into trouble, then implementation of GST and now they are going to withdraw the Art 35 (A) which is a special provision for J&K state. On the other hand, there are numerous other problems faced by people left unnoticed.\r\n

\r\nTalking about the issues in Leh, he said, “Internet connectivity has been a great problem in Leh, the present govt. fails to make it functional even after their promises, sewerage system in Leh has been carried out without proper planning and there are many problems such as road connectivity, high airfare etc. There is a need to work strongly as an opposition party and hope to strengthen it”.\r\n

\r\n“Under Art 35 (A) we have a special provision that no outsider can settle and carry out business in J&K, and we have the reservation for ST, SC. The present govt. doesn’t work to protect it and if it withdraws, there can be lots of problem for the people of J&K. As high-class businessman will take away all the business, our younger generation will remain unemployed due to the withdrawal of reservation category etc”, he added.\r\n

\r\nHe also informed that a new NC office has set up in Leh and people can visit the office to address the grievances.\r\n

\r\nTsering Motup, President NC Youth wing Nubra said that with the opening up of its office all the difficulties and issues at block level can be addressed.\r\n

\r\n

\r\nHe alleged that there is a lack of SDM from last three years, but during the time of NC Nubra, such cases seem to be witnessed very rarely. \r\n

\r\nThe members also addressed the problems and issues of different villages during the meeting. \r\n
