Religious leaders from all over Kargil district assembled at Indoor stadium Kargil along with workers of PDP unit Kargil and other political parties to observe the Chelum of Late Chief Minister of J&K Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.

The function was chaired by Member Islamia School Kargil Hujjatul Islam Sheikh Ali Elmi and Chairman J&K Legislative Council and MLC Kargil Haji Anayat Ali was also present.

Paying tribute to Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Haji Anayat Ali told that he concerned for the development of Kargil.

He sanction funds for Zojjila Tunnel, Kargil Zanskar Road, expansion of Kargil Airport, evacuation of Kurbathang plateau from Indian Army so that Kargil town can be expanded, up gradation of various High Schools and Higher Secondary Schools, PHC to CHCs, various blocks and subdivisions etc.

The biggest contribution for the people of Kargil by Late Mufti Mohamad Sayeed is granting of full powers to LAHDC which cannot be denied by any means.

He assured the people present on this occasion that he will try his best to complete the projects dreamt by Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for the development of Kargil so that the dream of a developed Kargil by Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed can be accomplished. Paying tribute Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Hujjatul Islam Sheikh Ali Elimi Member Islamia School Kargil told that he was a great leader whose wisdom will always rule the mind of the people and particularly by the people of Kargil for the developmental works he has done in Kargil.

He also told that Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was a man of promise and great calibre as he has kept his promise with Islamia School Kargil and powered Islamia School Kargil in the form of Chairman Legislative Council which he has promised whether Haji Anayat Ali wins or loses, he will be given cabinet minister.

Religious leaders from Far-flung areas of District Kargil like Shakar Chiktan, Sankoo, Tai Suru, Silmoo, Sodh, Barsoo and Shargole etc participated in the Chelum function and paid rich tribute to the Late Chief Minster and prayed for his eternal peace.

On this Occasion State Executive Member BJP Mohammad Subhan Jeffery and Member Minorities community, Kargil Tsering  Nurboo also paid tribute to the Late Chief Minster.

The function concluded with the congregational Fateah Khawani by Hujjatul Islam Sheikh Ibrahim Khalili Pashkum.
