MP Ladakh chairs DISHA meeting in Kargil Stresses proper implementation of central sponsored schemes
A review meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) was convened by MP Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal on November 20.
Members of the committee including EC Health, Muhammad Ali Chandan; Deputy Commissioner/ CEO, LAHDC, Kargil and Member Secretary DISHA, Baseer ul Haq Choudhary; ST Representative and Former Chairman Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali; Chairman, Municipal Committee (MC), Kargil, Zaheer Hussain Babar; Councillors, Panchayat and NGO representatives besides the district officers of various departments attended the meeting.
Baseer ul Haq Choudhary briefed about the physical and financial progress achieved on various centrally sponsored schemes presently executed by various departments in the district.
MP Ladakh inquired from the concerned officers in detail the status of progress achieved so far under the flagship programes like CRF, PMGSY, PMKSY, FMP, AMRUT, NRDWP, Urban Development, MGNREGA, SBM, PMAY-G, SBM-G, IWMP, MDM, SAMAGRA, NHM, National Social Assistance Programme, PMKVY, SNP, Poshan Abhiyan, DDUGJY, PMUY, Khelo India and other central sponsored schemes.
It was informed that under MGNREGA, against the target of 15 lakh man-days for the current financial year, 9 lakh 20 thousand man-days have been generated so far. Under PMAY-G, a 100% target of 1000 up to October 2020 for the provision of housing facilities to the BPL category has been achieved. Also, under SBM-G, 69 CSCs and 1024 individual household latrines (IHHLs) have been constructed so far.
Regarding physical and financial progress achieved under PMKSY and FMP, it was given out that 2 major schemes have been completed at a total cost of ₹29.88 crore. Under AMRUT, 4 schemes have been completed at a total cost of ₹ 13.61 crore while 3 major schemes under NRDWP are likely to be completed this year. Under Urban Development 278 beneficiaries have benefitted from the PMAY-U scheme while 400 individual household latrines (IHHLs) and community and public toilets have been constructed at a cost of ₹99 lakh.
Regarding the provision of Mid Day Meal to school children and construction works under SAMAGRA in the Education sector, against a target of 13000, 12075 beneficiaries have been provided food grains so far while 52 works have been completed under SAMAGRA.
While reviewing the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) and Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS), it was informed that 4732 beneficiaries have been extended the benefits under NSAP while 14,670 children, pregnant women, and nursing mothers have benefitted from the ICDS schemes.
MP Ladakh underlined the importance of the DISHA meeting for effective redressal of people’s grievances and issues of the concerned departments. He stressed upon officers to ensure the completion of various centrally sponsored projects and schemes within the stipulated timelines and to avoid delays to prevent cost escalation.
Underlining the need for the completion of pending projects to make them worth public utility, he directed the officers concerned to furnish a list of such works so that necessary steps could be taken in this regard. DC Kargil was asked to send survey teams to water scarcity areas like Sodh and Batalik for the proper establishment of lift irrigation schemes.
