Member, National Commission for Minorities meets religious organisations in Kargil
Member, National Commission for Minorities (NCM), Government of India, Rinchen Lhamo chaired a meeting with representatives of various religious organizations of Kargil district and discussed various issues of the people on January 9 at Conference hall, Baroo.
Rinchen Lhamo said that she is committed to address all the issues of the people of Ladakh and collective efforts from different quarters of the society is an important requirement to execute all the public welfare schemes. She urged all the religious heads and organizations to come forward and extend their support in order to implement welfare schemes so that people avail maximum benefits of such schemes.
She further stated that the religious institutions have to play a pivotal role in society as they have a wide acceptance among the common people.While reaffirming her belief over the religious heads she urged religious heads to come forward and spread awareness among people about various schemes from their respective platforms.
She to all issues projected by the various representatives including safeguarding of minority rights, implementation of Ranganath Commission, opening of centers at block levels for various schemes, minority status for Sikh community in Ladakh, pending cases of land allotment to Sikh families besides other issues. She assured the members that all possible steps will be taken to address the issues at the earliest adding that she will personally raise these issues with the higher authorities and will strictly monitor the implementation of various schemes.
