Meeting on developmental works of Tourism Dept. Kargil held
Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Feroz Ahmed Khan chaired the Governing Board Meeting and reviewed developmental works of the Tourism Department, new proposals for the Financial Year 2023-24 under Kargil Development Authority (KDA) and Zanskar Development Authority (ZDA) on April 10 at Council Secretariat Kargil.

Punchok Tashi; Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Santosh Sukhadeve; Director Tourism, Ladakh Kunzes Angmo; Chief Executive Officer KDA, Chief Executive Officer ZDA, Executive Engineer KDA, Executive Engineer ZDA, DFO Kargil besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.
The CEC sought details from the officers about the progress achieved in the ongoing developmental works in the Tourism department. Management, maintenance, upgradation, and renovation of assets and other activities taken up for tourism infrastructure development in Kargil and Zanskar were discussed.
Regarding the Zanskar area, it was informed that tourism developmental works are almost 90 percent complete which include beautification and upgradation of historical Gompa Rantaksha, construction of multipurpose hall at Cha, Itchar, Akshow, renovation of traditional wall paintings of Abran Gompa Zanskar, besides repair and restoration of various other works.
CEC stressed the officers for the creation of durable assets while taking due care of quality parameters to ensure the effective development of tourism infrastructure to attract more tourists to the district. He asked officers to take necessary measures to outsource the available assets of the KDA and ZDA.
Various steps that need to be taken to fully functionalize the authority were discussed in the meeting. Also, proposals of new works for FY 2023-24 were presented and various developmental works under SDP, District Capex, and State Sector schemes were discussed.
A powerpoint presentation was also presented that showed the achievements of the tourism department Kargil over the past several years.
CEC directed the officers to synergize their efforts so that the requisite results are achieved within the stipulated time and also to get necessary feedback about the status of works and implementation of various initiatives on the ground.
