Meeting held on status of UG University Examinations and results
A meeting was held under the chairmanship of R.K Mathur Lieutenant Governor regarding the status of UG University Examinations of the students of different semesters and batches and declaration of result of these examinations on March 2.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Farooq Ahmad Mir, Controller of Examination, University of Kashmir along-with the two Rectors of campuses of Kashmir University in Ladakh and Controller of Examination, University of Ladakh Deskyong Namgyal.
Prof. Farooq Ahmad Mir presented a detailed status of examinations and results. He also informed LG Ladakh about the establishment of Examination sub-offices at two satellite campuses of the University of Kashmir in which local human resource was engaged to address all the grievances of the students of this region.
LG was further informed that the Vice-chancellor of the University of Kashmir is taking personal interest in the examination processes of the student of Ladakh region.
"It is due to his personal efforts that the separate conduct of examination and evaluation of the answer scripts through examination sub-office was ensured with the result the examinations are being conducted without any postponement as used to be before the constitution of the sub-offices", added Prof Farooq.
He also informed that the conduct, as well as result declaration of all the semester of the students of this region, is much ahead to the students of Kashmir region. LG appreciated the efforts put in by the University of Kashmir to address the concern of the students of Ladakh.
On the advice of Lieutenant Governor, Union Territory of Ladakh, Prof. Farooq Ahmad Mir, Controller of Examination, University of Kashmir and Prof. Deskyong Namgyal, Controller of Examination, University of Ladakh have been entrusted to prepare a road-map for holding these exams in future within the time frame so as to address grievances of the students of Ladakh.
In this road-map, special consideration will have to be given to students of 2015 batch and it was decided that their backlog exams shall be held in March-April 2020. For other batches of students i.e. 2016-2019 batches, a clear road-map shall be soon notified for the information of all the stake-holders.
LG also directed the Controller of Examination, University of Kashmir to come up with detailed data on different semesters of 2015 batch so as to ascertain the actual number of students who have passed out in stipulated time frame as per the University norms.
