LBA, Zanskar, raises issue of medical staff shortage

Ladakh Buddhist Association, Zanskar highlighted several issues faced by the people of Zanskar sub-division before Lieutenant Governor, Radha Krishna Mathur on April 19.

Amidst COVID-19 pandemic spread, LBA Zanskar highlighted the shortages of doctors, medical staff, essential medicines and necessary equipment in Zanskar sub-division. At present, the sub-district is being looked after by 2 doctors and few paramedics. The matter had been frequently raised with the UT and District administration but no proper and satisfactory steps have been taken so far. They requested Lieutenant Governor to fill up the vacant post of specialists, General Doctors and paramedics at the earliest.
 
Also, they requested the safe evacuation of stranded patients, student, pilgrims and migrant workers of UT Ladakh stuck in different parts of India. Also, facilitation of movement of trucks with essential commodities, including fresh vegetables, fruit and construction materials.
 
Ladakh Buddhist Association appreciated and expressed gratitude to all the frontline workers including medical staffs, Paramedics, essential services provider, Police & Paramilitary forces.
