A fatal road accident took place at Rani Nala, near Rothang Pass on July 30 in which His Eminence the 9th Langna Rinpoche Jigdhrel Kunsang Long Yang passed away. 

 

His body was taken to Korzok monastery on August 3. He was accompanied by his personal attendant, a monk who was from Korzok. 

His Eminence was formally enthroned at the Korzok monastery in Changthang, Ladakh on July 13, 1994. He is the reincarnation of the late 8th Langna Rinpoche.

 

Since 2008, he resided in Bhuntar, Kullu at Dechen Choekhor monastery under the guidance of H.E. Kyabje Choegon Rinpoche.
