Ladakh Scouts' fresh batch of 161 recruits pass out

A batch of 161 new recruits of Ladakh Scout Regiment took an oath for ‘Dedicating their lives in the service of the nation’ on August 1 at Rinchen Drill square, Ladakh Scout Regimental Centre, Gupuks.
Well trained in the weapon, rock climbing, firing, battle and field craft, navigation, map reading, Hindi language, physical training and many more the young recruits were all set to join their battalion.
Lt. Gen Yogesh Kumar Joshi, AVSM, VrC, SM, Colonel of the Regiment J&K rifles and Ladakh Scouts congratulating the young recruits and the parents said, “It’s an honor and pride to each one of us to see well trained young recruits all set to serve the nation.
He stressed upon the young soldiers to serve the nation with utmost dedication and to strive hard in pursuit of the excellence.
One of the fathers of the young recruits said, “I am proud to see my son passing out today after all the training and today he is all groomed and set to serve the nation.”
Commissioned as an Army officer, one of the young recruits said, “I was very interested to join Indian Army and today when I am passing out as an officer I am very happy and satisfied. I want to give my message to the young boys of Ladakh that we have ample of potential and scope if we are determined to achieve it”.
“In the coming days we will also see many young Ladakhi officers in the Ladakh scouts”, he added.
Medals were awarded to the outstanding performers during the training and also Gaurav Padak was presented to the serving and retired personnel of the regiment whose son joined the regiment.
