Ladakh’s SIDCO signs landmark loan agreements for empowerment of minorities and disabled persons
In a major step towards promoting employment and self-reliance among Minorities, Backward Classes, and Persons with Disabilities in Ladakh, the Sindhu Infrastructure Development Corporation (SIDCO) signed multiple General Loan Agreements (GLA) and a Government Revolving Guarantee worth ₹10 crore with the National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC), ₹5 crore with the National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC), and ₹5 crore with the National Divyangjan Finance and Development Corporation (NDFDC), a Government of India enterprise.
The agreements were signed in the presence of Dr. Abha Rani Singh, IRS, Chairman and Managing Director of NMDFC; Rajan Sehgal, IFoS, Managing Director of NBCFDC; R.K. Mishra, General Manager/CS of NDFDC; and Bhupesh Chaudhary, IAS, Managing Director of SIDCO.
This landmark partnership aims to implement Employment Generation Schemes across Ladakh, providing interest-subsidized loans at concessional rates to empower Minorities, Backward Classes, and Persons with Disabilities. The initiative is designed to help individuals transition from being job seekers to job creators, enabling them to become self-reliant and contributing members of society.
The agreements focus on uplifting the socio-economic conditions of the targeted population by enhancing their income through support in key sectors such as Transport, Tourism, Agriculture, Service Industry, and Education.
This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to fostering sustainable development and enhancing opportunities for Minorities, Backward Classes, and Persons with Disabilities in Ladakh. By addressing financial barriers and encouraging entrepreneurship, the initiative aims to unlock the potential of Ladakh’s communities and contribute to the region’s economic growth and prosperity.
