L-G flags off mobile medical unit in Leh Mobile medical unit sets off to provide specialist doctors' services in villages
Health Department of Ladakh has started a Mobile Medical Unit to cater the people across Ladakh region. R.K. Mathur, Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh today on April 18 from Raj Niwas flagged off two teams of Mobile Medical Units comprising of 8 specialists doctors of SNM Hospital, Leh to Igoo and Nimoo villages.
Rigzin Samphel, Commissioner/ Secretary Health; Phuntsog Angchuk, Director Health, Ladakh, and Motup Dorjey, CMO, Leh were present on the occasion.
Lt. Governor said that the MMU will not only help provide medical services of specialist doctors to the people in their villages but would facilitate the health department to track all the areas for COVID-19 screening. He emphasized focusing on far-flung areas like Changthang, Zanskar, Trans Singge-la and similar areas in Kargil district where people do not get enough coverage.
LG Mathur appreciated Director Health, CMO, Leh and the entire team of doctors and health workers for their dedicated services in the battle against COVID-19.
He said that their pro-activeness will ensure health services for all and help control the spread of novel coronavirus.
