Farmers from different clusters and Tibetan Refugees Camps of Changthang region exhibited different types of vegetable, cereal, oilseed and fodder crops during the 5th Kisan Mela celebration on September 17.

Dr. Maheshwar Singh, Head/Senior Scientist, KVK Nyoma enlisted achievements of the said centre and gave recommendations keeping in view the extraordinary conditions of Changthang region.

Mohd Taqi, SDM Nyoma appreciated farmers for cultivation of a variety of vegetables, which was earlier being heard as impossible in Changthang region and the scientific team of KVK Nyoma for their selfless work. 

Puntsok Stanzin, EC Agriculture said that he is very much surprised to see a variety of vegetables grown by the farmers of the region. He stressed them to maintain the organic practice, which is also the vision of LAHDC, Leh. 

Prizes were distributed among the winners of the exhibition. 

Dr. Dorjay Namgyal, Programme Coordinator, KVK Leh, Dr. Anurag Saxena, Head, RRS-CAZRI, Leh and many other dignitaries were present.
