Kisan fruit festival held in Skurbuchan
To sensitize the farmers about the potential of growing income-oriented fruits and vegetables, a three day long Kisan Fruit festival was held on August 17 in Skurbuchan. It was organised by the Department of Agriculture and Horticulture.
The main objective of this programme was to uplift the economic status of the farmers.
His Holiness Chetsang Rinpoche, chief guest appreciated the farmers for their hard work and producing so many varieties of quality fruits and vegetable.
Other departments like DIHAR, SKUAST and NGOs like Go Green Go Organic and LEHO exhibited their products and disseminated latest farming technologies among the growers.
Farmers from Skurbuchan and surrounding villages showcased their farm produce and the best farmers were awarded. Also, different cultural programs, archery and painting competition were held.
His Eminence Togdan Rinpoche, Bakula Rangdol Nima Rinpoche, Rigyal Rinpoche and Phuntsog Stanzin, E.C Agriculture and many other respected dignitaries were present.
