One-day training session on the e-office system for officers and officials of the DC office was organised by the Department of Information Technology (IT) UT Ladakh in collaboration with District Administration Kargil on December 20.

Sajjad Hussain Manager and Ishtiyaq Hussain Network Engineer of the IT Department gave a detailed presentation to the officials on different modes and usage of the e-office system. To ensure the roll-out of e-office, the department has to adopt e-office software of National Informatics Center (NIC) as the only mode of transition of official business file work in their respective department and also to adopt best practices for improving efficiency in the e-office system, disposal of official business.

Officials said the rollout of e-office in the government offices is a step to introduce paperless offices, besides shifting official records avoiding wear and tear, loss of official records during transportation. They said the shift to e-office will bring considerable improvement in the disposal of official business and establish accountability by monitoring statistics of file movement thereby improving public service delivery. 

The training session ended with an interactive session.
