INSPIRE-MANAK mentorship programme held at DIET Leh

The INSPIRE-MANAK mentorship workshop was held online at DIET Leh on May 24, in which three national finalist students from UT Ladakh participated.

Earlier, the State-Level Exhibition and Project Competition (SLEPC) of the district finalists of UT Ladakh under the INSPIRE Awards-MANAK scheme was held on March 9, 2023.

The three national finalist students from UT Ladakh who showcased their projects/models were Stanzin Diskit of class 9 from Government Higher Secondary School Saspol, with her project titled ‘Speed Breaker as Pumping System for Watering Roadside Plantations’. The second finalist was Skarma Stanzin of class 8 from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Leh, with the project titled ‘Bucket for Washing and Boiling Water in Difficult Areas’. The last finalist was Rigzen Wangmo of class 9 from Lamdon Model Senior Secondary School, Leh, with the project titled ‘Poplar Pollen Collector’.

The students had the opportunity to discuss their projects with experts from the National Innovation Foundation (NIF) for further improvement in the prototype and learned design skills from the experts present during the interaction.

The improved prototypes will be showcased in the upcoming National Level Exhibition and Project Competition (NLEPC).

Experts present during the programme were Vinay Kumar and Dr Abhishek Verma, Engineers from NIF, Mehreen from DST, Kunzang Namgail, State Nodal Officer of INSPIRE MANAK, and Tsering Yangdol, District Nodal Officer of INSPIRE MANAK.
