Indian army conducts veteran rally in Kharu
Veterans rally was organised at Trishul Parade Ground, Kharu under the aegis of Trishul Division on April 20. Lieutenant Governor, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) in presence of General Officer Commanding, Fire and Fury Corps.
The rally aimed to have a forum for interaction with veterans and provided them a platform to resolve any issues with various service providers after they have given their best years in the service of the Nation. Several stalls were established to assist in resolving their grievances and advice them towards the execution of various business ventures.
Many senior serving military/ civilian officers and dignitaries also attended the rally.
L-G assured his support for the welfare of veterans and complimented them for their contribution to nation-building. Veterans, Veer Matas and Veer Naris were also felicitated during the rally.
Around 850 veterans and their families attended the rally. The event afforded an opportunity for veterans to get acquainted with various welfare schemes launched by Indian Army. The rally also provided an opportunity to avail medical facilities and reinvigorate their ties with their serving brethren.
