Indian Air Force celebrates 92nd anniversary with static display at Leh
To commemorate the 92nd anniversary of the Indian Air Force, a static display was organised at Air Force Station Leh on October 9. The event showcased a range of fighters, transport and helicopter fleet aircraft, as well as indigenous surface-to-air weapon systems. The purpose of the display was to highlight the professionalism and capabilities of the IAF while instilling a sense of patriotism among the youth of the country.
Lieutenant Governor of UT Ladakh, Dr. BD Mishra (Retd), was the chief guest at the event. The gathering included the Corps Commander of 14 Corps, officers from sister services, and civil dignitaries, and was hosted by Air Commodore Dharminder Singh Handa, Air Officer Commanding, along with personnel from Air Force Station Leh.
The marquee event began with students and the general public observing the displayed aircraft and missile systems, during which they received briefings on the strengths and capabilities of each system. Attractive posters, stickers, and other publicity materials were distributed among the students in attendance, fostering curiosity, particularly among the younger generation.
The successful execution of the event demonstrated the effective coordination between the personnel of Air Force Station Leh and the Civil Administration.
