To mark the celebration of World Forestry Day, Regional Research Station, ICAR-CAZRI Leh organized an essay, slogan writing and painting competition on March 20 at Eliezer Joldan Memorial College, Leh.

 

The essay completion was held on the topic 'Role of forest in combating Global Warming' and Slogan and painting on 'Save Forests and Save Life or Forest and Energy'. 

Students of EJM College participated the competition enthusiastically.

Dr. T H Masoodi, ADR, SKUAST (K), Leh gave a presentation on Forest and Climate change. Dr. S K Chauhan, Head CAZRI-RRS, Leh highlighted about Forest and Bio-energy and Dr. MS Raghubanshi, Sr.Scientist, RRS-CAZRI  on Weed and their problem and management in Natural Forest.

In the essay competition, Sonam Angmo bagged first prize and Thinles Angmo and Padma Youron scored second and third position.   In slogan writing competition Stanzin Chuskit, Stanzin Dolma and Kaniz Fatima won first second and third prize respectively. Tashi Gyaltson, Nurboo Tsering and Jigmet Yangchan won the titles in the painting competition.
