His Eminence Drukpa Thuksey Rinpoche leads long-life prayers for the Dalai Lama at Dharamsala

After two days of peaceful and wrathful Amitayus practice, monks and nuns, led by His Eminence Drukpa Thuksey Rinpoche and other Rinpoches, offered a long-life ceremony to His Holiness the Dalai Lama at Tsuglagkhang, Dharamsala, on April 2.
The prayers were performed by Rinpoches and monks from Druk Sang-Ngag Choling monastery, along with nuns from Druk Amitabha Mountain DGK Nunnery.
His Eminence Thuksey Rinpoche stated, “Under the advice and guidance of His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa Rinpoche, we offered a long-life ceremony to His Holiness the Dalai Lama.”
He further added, “His Holiness the Dalai Lama is turning 90 year old , and we pray daily for his good health and long life. Today, having the opportunity to organize this two-day prayer at Tsuglagkhang, Dharamsala, is a great blessing.”
His Holiness also urged everyone to continue praying for the good health and long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
Addressing the gathering, His Holiness the Dalai Lama said, “I thank the Drukpa Kagyu for offering these prayers for my long life. I do my best with a sincere heart to benefit others. When we pray with sincerity and dedication to the well-being of others, our prayers will bear fruit.”
He further stated, “Today, members of the Drukpa Kagyu have offered this Long-Life Offering. As I was on my way here, I felt glad and curiously elated to be attending this ceremony. You have been serving the Buddhadharma well, and I feel happy to be here today. When we pray for the Dharma to flourish, it is not merely about building monasteries and temples—it is about our own practice, about gaining confidence in our spiritual journey. True practice is not about external developments; it involves studying the Three Baskets, the Three Collections of Teachings, and realizing their essence. This is what we mean by the flourishing of the Dharma.” (His Holiness Dalai Lama speech source: Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama)
