Hill Council, Leh to formulate action plan for additional fund under BADP scheme Concerned ECs and councilors to propose and submit their plans by February 16
A meeting on action plan for additional fund amounting ₹ 35 crore under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) for Leh district was convened by Gyal P Wangyal, CEC, LAHDC, Leh on February 11 at Council Secretariat.
Gyal P Wangyal said that the core objective of BADP is to develop border villages situated along Indo-Pak and Indo-China. He urged concerned ECs and councilors to propose innovative, constructive, visionary and big schemes as per the guidelines of the BADP scheme and submit their plans by February 16 for further submission.
Sachin Kumar Vaishya, DC Leh briefed about the guidelines and various projects permissible under BADP in sectors like infrastructure, health, agriculture, social, education, sports, and special/specific area schemes.
He stressed on devising big projects which can be completed in one go rather than taking small schemes in hand.
Executive Councilors and Councilors of border areas gave their inputs to make the BADP more result-oriented.
Deputy Chairman Tsering Sandup; Executive Councillors, Phuntsog Stanzin and Konchok Stanzin; Chief Planning Officer Leh, Padma Lundup; Councillors of Korzok, Tangtse, Hunder, and Turtuk constituencies were present.
