Hill Council, Leh provides financial assistance to Ashoka Mission
Hill Council, Leh decided to continue financial assistance to Ashoka Mission and provided ₹25 Lakh. This was decided during a meeting chaired by Chairman/CEC, Adv. Tashi Gyalson on January 13 at Council Secretariat.
Executive Councillor for RDD, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee, and concerned District officers was present.
Hill Council, Leh has been supporting the organization in the past years also. Considering the difficult situation of patients suffering from life-threatening or complex diseases, Ashoka Mission has been a pioneer in supporting Ladakhi patients, especially those from humble and financially weaker backgrounds who are undergoing treatments at various hospitals in the national capital mostly referred from SNM Hospital Leh.
Hill Council, Leh aims to assist Ladakhis, especially through various assistive initiatives and this includes the recently initiated construction of Ladakh Bhawan (Leh Wing) at Dwarka. The Bhawan would be helpful for Ladakhi people visiting the capital city, especially for the treatment of complex diseases. The Bhawan would provide accommodations and other necessary facilities especially for patients with economically weaker backgrounds from Ladakh as well.
