Hill Council, Leh convenes meeting on proposal for new district posts

Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, chaired a meeting on February 15 to discuss the proposal for creating various departmental posts in the newly formed districts of Nubra, Changthang, Sham, Zanskar, and Drass.

Officials from the concerned departments provided a comprehensive briefing on the proposed positions, highlighting the specific needs of key sectors such as handloom, health, and agriculture. CEC Tashi Gyalson thoroughly reviewed the requirements, seeking detailed explanations to ensure alignment with the districts' developmental priorities.

He emphasized the importance of structuring the proposals in accordance with existing administrative blocks for a systematic allocation of resources. He also instructed the representatives to refine their proposals to better reflect the districts' actual needs and submit the finalized staffing requirements to the council committee for further review.

The meeting was a crucial step toward ensuring that the newly formed districts in UT Ladakh are adequately staffed to support their growth and development.

The meeting was attended by the Director ULB/Hospitality & Protocol, Director Industries & Commerce, Director Health Services, Chief Engineer PWD/R&B, Chief Engineer PDD, District Superintending Engineer PWD, Chief Planning Officer, Internal Audit Officer, District Superintending Engineer Hydraulics, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Education Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Chief Medical Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, Deputy Secretary Cultural Academy, Assistant Director Tourism, ARTO Leh, Executive Engineer Leh Development Authority, Block Development Officer, District Treasury Officer, Deputy Director Command Area, Assistant Controller Legal Metrology, Librarian, and representatives from Information, Handloom, and Handicrafts departments.
