The inter-school tournament between the middle schools of Leh, Chushot, Kharu, Nyoma and Durbuk Block was held from May 14 to 17 at Boys Higher Secondary school, Leh. The tournament was organised by Department of Youth Service and Sports, Leh.

Govt. Middle School Kuzey won the final match played between Govt. Middle School Skara. In the tournament, around 400 students from 24 middle schools of different blocks participated.

The chief guest of the occasion, District Education Planning Officer, Kunzes Dolma said, “along with studies sports is equally important in student’s life for healthy body, mind, and soul as well as to be happy.”

She further added that apart from losing and winning participant learn different skills like team spirit, cooperation and decision making. Such tournament is very beneficial for the students and should be held every time. 

Tashi Tsering, Zonal Physical officer said the selected best players will be sent further to the state level. 

Tajamul Ara, District Youth Coordinator Leh, Deldan Angmo, Principal Boys Hr. Secondary school Leh, Sonam Dorjay, Headquarter Assistant, Education Department, Tsewang Namgyal Zonal Education Officer, and teachers were also present.
