Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan who is also the Chairman, Kargil Renewable Energy Development Authority (KREDA) chaired its Governing Board meeting at KREDA office, Kurbathang on May 5.

Project Director, KREDA, Kacho Ahmad Khan gave a detailed powerpoint presentation on the progress and reviewed projects carried out by the agency including the installation of solar water heaters, solar greenhouse, solar photovoltaic and small hydro projects (SHP).

He said that the agency is contributing to saving Carbon in the region--a step towards the Carbon Neutral Ladakh goal to be achieved by 2050.

The meeting held a detailed discussion on tariff revision, Small Hydro Project Biaras in Grid, indoor switchyard for Small Hydro Project Raru, commissioning of SHP Raru, release of balanced funds of SHP and Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) in Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, 2 MW capacity Grid-Connected SPV plant to be proposed under PM-KUSUM (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan), among other issues of the agency.
CEC instructed the concerned officials to speed up the projects in special reference to SHP Raru.
