First phase of IMPACT training starts in Kargil
The first phase of 5 days of Online Integrated Multidisciplinary Professional Advancement Course for Teachers (IMPACT) training for in-service teachers of Kargil started on December 10 in Kargil.
The training programme is being conducted by the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Kargil through the Zoom Meet app. 25 trained key resource persons of Kargil district will be presenting 10 modules on different topics related to generic and pedagogy. Around 3000 in-service teachers of Kargil district will be trained during the 5 days course.
The training programme will be conducted in two phases. In the first phase teachers from Kargil, Shargole, and Sankoo zones participated.
105 teachers from three educational zones joined the training programme through the Zoom Meet app in the session held on December 10.
It was informed that the whole module of the training has been designed as a short course to be conducted in three phases in a face-to-face mode for 5 days followed by fieldwork for 21 days and reflection and assessment for 3 days.
The course aims to provide teachers with the knowledge, understanding, and skills on the generic concerns such as understanding of learners, school-based assessment, pre-school and foundational literacy, and numeracy and teaching-learning in multi-grade situations and also on subject-specific pedagogy in the area of Environmental Studies, Languages, Mathematics, Social Sciences and Science.
Focus is made on the enhancement of teaching skills and sensitivity for integrating social concerns. The sole purpose of the programme is to adopt a paradigm shift in the teaching-learning approach.
