Executive Councilor, Punchok Tashi met Col Paras of 13 BRTF BRO on December 16 and discussed the latest progress of Nimmu-Padum-Darcha road and related activities.

He appreciated the engineers, machine operators, labourers, and other staff for working amid severe cold to accomplish the connectivity from Neraq to Chilling.

Col Paras briefed the Executive Councilor about the progress made so far towards the Neraq sector which is expected to connect with Leh in early spring of 2024. It was informed that the road from Padum to Shingkunla towards Darcha Manali shall be completed next summer with complete widening and macadamization.

EC Tashi requested for engagement of maximum number of local labourers in the project every year. He expressed gratitude to BRO for working day in and out for the welfare of the nation.

He also assured to provide all logistic support from civil administration and LAHDC Kargil.
