To discuss the functioning and progress of the education system in the district, a review meeting was held by Konchok Stanzin, EC Education, Hill Council, Leh on December 3. 

Konchok urged the government schools to share their initiatives that will help to provide a platform of strong ideas in our new education policies. Discussion took place on the grievances and demands put forth by the Principal/Headmaster of each school and also discussed the past and present education scenario of Leh.
  
He further assured to fill the vacant posts of teaching and non-teaching staff in all schools in Leh district. He also informed about the transfer committee that has been set up to look into transfer cases and filling up of posts on a priority basis.
 
Several issues were also raised by the area Councillors and Principals regarding the school’s basic infrastructure, installation of central heating system, compound walling, setting up of solar power plant, fully equipped computer lab, 27x7 electricity supply and other basic facilities.
