District Police,Leh, organises ‘Know your police force’ initiative
As part of the initiative ‘Know Your Police Force’ organised by District Police, Leh, students from TCV school Choglamsar visited Police Post Choglamsar on May 29 to gain insights into the operations and functioning of the police.
Sub-Inspector Vilayat Ali (I/CPP) provided a comprehensive explanation of various aspects, including the process of lodging FIRs, preventive measures, maintenance of daily diaries, and crime reporting procedures. Additionally, a session on cybercrime prevention was conducted, highlighting common cyber fraud in Ladakh. The students were also briefed on critical issues such as drug abuse, trafficking, and their detrimental effects on individuals, families, and society.
Meanwhile, at Police Post Kharu, students from Govt Hr Sec School Sakti participated in an awareness session cum familiarisation tour to police post-Kharu. The focus of this session was to educate students about common cyber frauds, drug abuse, trafficking, and the impact they have on families and friends. The students were also given an overview of the functioning of the police post by Sub Inspector Dechan Yangdol (I/C PP).
The main aim of these visits to various Police Stations and Police Posts is to bridge the gap between the police force and children, empowering the younger generation to combat social crimes like drug and alcohol abuse.
The students attentively listened to the briefings and actively engaged in a question and answer session, covering topics related to police operations, crime investigation, cybercrime, and drug abuse.
