District Police Leh arrested drug peddler with over 1110gm of Ganja
In yet another breakthrough in its continuous effort to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, the District Police, Leh arrested one drug peddler and seized 1110 grams of Ganja on May 11 in Leh.
The accused, named Samser Sheikh S/o Shantu Sheikh R/o Pratapganj, Murshidabad, West Bengal was caught by the team of police post-Housing Colony, Leh during the random traffic checking at Airport- Skalzangling road. The police recovered ganja and concealed contraband substances in medicine bottles and beedi packets.
The case was registered under FIR No 60/2022 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act at Police Station Leh and an investigation has started.
District Police Leh once again requests the general public to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers and join hands with Ladakh police in the fight against the menace of drugs in the district. It is further reiterated that consistent efforts are being made by District police Leh to keep the society especially youths free from the scourge of drug menace and a person found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with strictly as per law.
