District Election Officer reviews action plan for LS polls
District Election Officer, Santosh Sukhadeve, has undertaken a detailed assessment of the action plan devised for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The meeting, held on April 23, covered various crucial aspects such as manpower allocation, training programmes, expenditure monitoring, transportation logistics, adherence to the Model Code of Conduct (MCC), media management, Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) handling, and management of the electoral roll.
ADIO, NIC, Tashi Tundup informed that data entry for employees from various departments has been completed, along with the preparation of a list of micro-observers. Comprehensive training sessions for both postal and general ballot procedures have also been successfully conducted.
During the meeting, Sukhadeve sought updates on the operational readiness of surveillance teams, procurement of materials, army cooperation, and arrangements for absentee voters concerning postal balloting. He emphasised the need for swift organisation of requisite training programmes.
Sukhadeve also instructed all designated nodal officers to sustain their efforts and address any lingering concerns.
The meeting was attended by key officials including Sonam Nurboo, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADDC); Shabir Hussain, Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR); Inzar Rana, Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Leh; Tashi Tundup, Assistant Director Information Officer (ADIO) NIC Leh; Tundup Namgail, Assistant Director Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) Leh, and several other nodal officers.
