District Administration Kargil organises workshop on Good Governance Week 2024
The District Administration Kargil organized a workshop on Good Governance Week at the District headquarters on December 24.
Kacho Asfandyar Khan, a retired IAS officer, attended the program as the chief guest via virtual mode.
DC Kargil, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, emphasized that "Good Governance Week" reflects the government and administration's vision to ensure public service delivery at the doorstep. He further stressed that the workshop aimed to learn from the best practices of various departments that have brought transformative changes in people's lives while also shaping a vision for a developed Kargil, considering the aspirations of all sections of society.
Kacho Asfandyar Khan expressed his gratitude for the invitation and highlighted that good governance involves transparency, accountability, and smooth, obstacle-free service delivery. He pointed out that the week, running from December 19 to 25, coincided with the 100th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a leader celebrated for his legacy in governance.
Khan also addressed the challenges faced by the administrative machinery and discussed the measures needed to prioritize public welfare in the district. He proposed several initiatives for the future, particularly in education, health, tourism, and access to drinking water.
ADC Kargil, Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din, praised the hard work of all departments in achieving targets and delivering quality services directly to the people.
District officers from various departments shared their insights, achievements, and initiatives aimed at improving service delivery and governance in Kargil.
