Director Rural Development reviews progress of various schemes
Director, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department, Ladakh, Syed Sajjad Qadri reviewed the progress achieved under various schemes implemented by the department on 8 November.
Discussions were held on the ongoing projects and initiatives, with a special focus on rural development and grassroots governance. The officials shared insights and ideas for the betterment of rural communities of Kargil.
All the schemes that are being implemented by RDD&PR like MGNREGA, SBM G phase II, NRLM, PMAY G, IWMP, SDP, State Capex, Grant in Aid (Assistant to Panchayats), etc. were discussed.
The Director emphasized the importance of community participation and ensuring that the benefits of these schemes reach the intended beneficiaries effectively.
The Director RD&PRD directed the swift saturation of PMAY within a week, highlighting the urgency of ensuring that housing benefits reach eligible beneficiaries promptly. He also reviewed the physical and financial status of SDP (Block-Wise) in the district with an emphasis on understanding the progress made in various blocks and identifying areas where further attention is needed.
He briefed about the specific programs, such as "Viksit Bharat" and "PM Vishva Karma" and instructed the BDOs to implement them as per guidelines sticking to the timeline.
He appreciated the collective efforts in realizing the department’s vision for comprehensive rural development. He said that the success of these schemes depends on the synergy between the government, local representatives, and the community. He added that the department is committed to strengthening the collaboration for the sustainable development of rural Ladakh.
He also unveiled a comprehensive vision for responsible expenditure and discussed strategies for the successful implementation of all the schemes.
