DIPR Leh conducts one day cultural workshop
The one-day cultural workshop of DIPR Leh - Shesrig Lasda held on Februrary 29 saw participants learn the art of Ladakhi dances and enhance their language skills under the guidance of experts from the field, Tsewang Norboo, a folk song and dance expert and Chetan Angchuk, a theatre artist.
EC Culture, Stanzin Chosphel graced the event as the chief guest and Commissioner Secretary Padma Angmo was present as the guest of honour.
In his address, EC Chosphel commended the Information Department Leh for the initiative and spoke of the need to actively work towards preserving Ladakh's precious cultures and highlighted the initiatives undertaken by LAHDC Leh to support the local arts, culture, and literature. He assured continued support from the Hill Council in promoting and preserving Ladakh's age-old cultural heritage.
Commissioner Secretary Padma Angmo emphasised the universal recognition of the importance of one's culture and traditions, noting the increasing awareness in Ladakh. She outlined the department's vision to encourage and preserve Ladakh's unique cultural heritage across various platforms.
Ladakhi delicacies prepared by women SHGs from Thiksey were served during the event.
AD Information Leh, Dr. Tundup Namgail; Dy Secretary Culture Academy Leh, Tsewang Paljor, media professionals from Leh and DIPR Leh officials participated in the day-long workshop.
