DIET Leh organises district level folk dance competition in Leh
District Institute of Education & Training, Leh organised a district level folk dance competition on November 18 at DIET Leh.
The competition took place among 9th-grade students from high schools in Leh district as part of the National Population Scheme organised by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).
The themes for the competition were Equal Opportunity for Boys & Girls, Role of Joint Family in Child Development, Protection of Environment, Prevention of Substance Abuse and Healthy Relationships during adolescence.
The judges for the competition were ZEO Nyoma, Nawang Namgail , Assistant Editor, Culture Academy, Dr. Thupstan Norbu, Culture Officer, Lundup Dorjai, Instrumentalist (AIR), Tsering Chorol, I/C Culture Education Department, Sonam Yangchan
High School Shara bagged the first position while, High School Igoo bagged the second position and High School Chumathang bagged the third position.
At the end, experts shared their valuable views related to the rich culture of Ladakh and stressed on the importance of culture preservation.
Principal, DIET Leh , Chetan Dorjey assured to continue such programs in future also.
