DIET Leh hosts winter orientation program for 160 head teachers
A five-day winter training program on capacity building and orientation for Head Teachers of Middle and Primary Schools in Leh district commenced at DIET Leh on January 8.
The program features resource persons from UT Chandigarh, including Dr. Openderjeet Kaur, Ravender Kumar, and Madu Balu, a Balvatika Specialist. They are joined by DIET Leh KRP Tsering Wangdus from the Curriculum and Assessment Wing. The sessions will focus on key topics such as the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the National Curriculum Framework Foundational Stage (NCF-FS), strategies to bridge the learning gap (Vidya Pravesh), and the implementation of the Holistic Progress Report Card (HPC), all based on research findings from the 2024 Education Conclave.
The training emphasizes the importance of foundational literacy and numeracy skills, which are critical for future academic success. Over the course of five days, the orientation aims to empower Head Teachers with the knowledge and tools to implement FLN, NCF-FS, and HPC effectively in their schools.
This initiative highlights a strong commitment to improving educational standards while fostering professional development among educators. Around 160 Head Teachers from Middle and Primary Schools across the district are participating in the program.
