A delegation of Merchant Association, Leh raised different issues faced by the shopkeepers to R.K. Mathur, Lieutenant Governor on May 19 at Raj Niwas.
 
They informed that over 95% of shopkeepers run their business on bank finances. With the unprecedented and drastic fall in the business, the shopkeepers are facing huge challenges to sustain, meet their regular expenses of paying property rents, electricity bills, repayment of loans and interests, etc. 
 
The delegation made an appeal to the UT Administration to provide financial assistance through a comprehensive financial aid plan for all the shopkeepers.
 
They also expressed their commitment to respect the guidelines issued by the government and to continue with their support in fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic.
