Delegation from Sri Sathya Sai International Organisation meets L-G Proposes to extend medical & education assistance for benefit of patients/students from Ladakh
A delegation from Sri Sathya Sai International Organisation (SSSIO) led by Gopi Krishna Pidatala and Founder of Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC), Choglamsar, Ven Sanghasena met Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at Raj Niwas on September 23.
Advisor, Dr Pawan Kotwal, was also present in the meeting.
Gopi Krishna Pidatala informed the LG that the organisation has been working in various fields for the past two years and is recently associated with MIMC Choglamsar. He also informed that the organisation will assist in revamping the Mahabodhi Karuna Charitable Hospital by providing the latest medical equipment at a cost of Rs 2 crores for the benefit of patients from Ladakh. He further informed about the plan to conduct a Mobile Ophthalmic Unit (MOU) eye screening camp in Ladakh for people suffering from eye diseases.
He informed the LG about the plan to train teachers from Ladakh to provide value education to students. He also informed about the Sri Sathya Sai Hospital at Rajkot in Gujarat where children with cardiac issues are provided free medical assistance. He requested the Administration to identify children with cardiac issues so that surgery could be performed on such children free of cost at the hospital in Rajkot. He also proposed to conduct screening tests in Ladakh to identify people with cardiac problems. He also highlighted the need to resolve the issue of water for irrigating fields in Alchi village along with raising more awareness among people about health schemes such as the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
L-G commended the Sri Sathya Sai organisation for their noble work and for assisting in purchasing equipment for MIMC for the benefit of the patients from Ladakh. He instructed the Advisor to LG to sensitize people from Ladakh about the various central government health schemes so that a maximum number of citizens of Ladakh can avail their benefits.
