DC Santosh launches GoI’s student entrepreneurship brochure
Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), Ministry of Education, Govt. of India student entrepreneurship brochure was released by DC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve and MGNCRE, MoE, GoI, Resource person Dr. Sankara Rao Kocherla Assistant Professor, the University of Ladakh on October 17.
The brochure was released as a part of promoting Entrepreneurship and Workmanship during National Entrepreneurship month to be held from October 19 to November 20.
Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE) has called for forming Student Self-Help Groups (SSHGs) to promote both entrepreneurship and workmanship in Higher Education Institutions to support the efforts of Entrepreneurship Development cells through student alumni of the colleges. This helps in internships and apprenticeships with local businesses and local administration and is the most sustainable way to skill the youth into productive work.
The DC, while appreciating the efforts of MGNCRE, said that skilling, vocational education, and experiential learning will pave way for the employability of youth adding that small steps toward entrepreneurship can steer economic growth and development.
He added that every Higher Education Institution needs to form Cells on Vocational Education and Skilling, Rural Entrepreneurship Development, and Social Entrepreneurship. Furthermore, he assured all possible help for the same.
Pertinently, MGNCRE engages with Higher Education Institutions across the country for taking forward Experiential Learning, Community Engagement, Mentoring, and Facilitation for Institutional Social Responsibility, Vocational Education, and Skilling for Employability, Sustainable Development, Swachhta, and Rural and Social Entrepreneurship.
