DC Leh meets private school principals to discuss PMJAY card registration

Deputy Commissioner Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve, chaired a meeting with principals and heads of various private schools to discuss the registration of Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana (PMJAY) cards for school-going children. The meeting was held at the Video Conference Room, DC Office Leh on March 17.
During the discussion, school authorities were directed to identify students who do not possess PMJAY cards. They were instructed to verify whether these students are registered under Ayushman Bharat and hold a Golden Card. If not, they were asked to check whether the students are registered under Aadhaar or listed on a ration card.
It was emphasized that this data is essential for organizing camps to facilitate the creation of PMJAY cards. Additionally, it will aid in conducting registration camps for Aadhaar and ration cards. Schools have been given a one-week deadline to submit the required data to the Chief Education Officer, who will compile and forward it to the Chief Medical Officer.
The PMJAY scheme is a fully government-financed health insurance program that provides coverage of ₹5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization across public and private empaneled hospitals in India.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Medical Officer Leh, Chief Education Officer, Assistant Manager UIDAI Leh, and principals and heads of various private schools.
