DC, Leh, discusses implementation progress of Vishwakarma scheme
Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve convened a meeting to discuss the implementation progress of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme in the VC room of DC office Leh on November 7.
Director, District Industries and Commerce, Ladakh, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh gave a presentation covering various aspects of the PM Vishwakarma scheme. This included an in-depth overview of the scheme's coverage, benefits, application process, eligibility criteria, and its rollout strategy.
Additionally, the roles of Panchayati Raj (Gram Pradhan), Urban Local Bodies (ULB), and the participation of banks in the scheme were discussed. A short video highlighting the process of MSME registration was presented to the attendees.
Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Santosh Sukhadeve praised the scheme for its potential to support village artisans, thereby promoting their trades and contributing to economic growth.
During the meeting, several directives were issued by the Deputy Commissioner to expedite the scheme's implementation. He urged the District Panchayat Officer (DPO), Leh, to complete all necessary tasks within a two-month timeframe.
Furthermore, the DPO was instructed to promptly create login IDs and passwords for the Sarpanches and complete the biometric authentication process.
To ensure that the benefits of the scheme reached even the far-flung areas, DC instructed the DPO and Block Development Officer (BDO) to arrange for transportation as necessary. He stressed the need for maximum coverage and promptly forming Panchayat Level Committees to oversee the program at the grassroots level.
The DC emphasized the importance of saturating the scheme, demonstrating the administration's commitment to supporting local artisans and fostering economic growth through the PM Vishwakarma scheme.
