To prepare a project for conservation of surface and underground water and to prevent contamination of water sources in Leh district, the Chairman District Advisory Committee on Environment (DACE) Phunchok Stanzin, EC Agriculture & Environment convened a meeting on January 17 at Council Secretariat. 

The meeting was attended by Tashi Tundup , Xen. Irrigation and flood Control, Leh and Padma Angmo, BDO Chushot.
 
Phunchok, EC directed Xen. I&FC to prepare a long-term comprehensive proposal for water conservation in Leh district by incorporating different methods like check-dams. 

Also, EC directed him to submit a short-term estimate for initiating water conservation projects in Leh. BDO Chushot was directed to support I&FC division in mapping underground water through Bhuvan GIS portal.

The meeting was attended by member DACE Phunchok Dorjey, Councillor Phyang and Mohd Ali,  Secretary DACE Divisional Forest Officer, Leh.
