COVID-19 prevention:Kargil DM invokes National Disaster Management Act All restaurants/dhabas, food courts, food stalls, roadside eateries etc. closed in Kargil district till further orders

Kargil :
District Magistrate, Kargil under National Disaster Management Act, 2005 (DM Act) stated that all restaurants/dhabas, food courts, food stalls, roadside eateries etc. shall remain closed in Kargil district till further orders on March 18.
Assistant Director Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs and the Executive Officer, Municipal Committee, Kargil shall ensure compliance. District Police Kargil and ARTO, Kargil have been directed to ensure that all forms of public transport shall remain closed till further orders.
The order further states that no social, religious or ritualistic events shall be held at any public/community/religious place in the district involving a gathering of more than 4 people till further orders.
Chief Medical Officer and the Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Kargil have been instructed to ensure that public places particularly the Bus and Taxi stands, market areas, etc. in the Municipal areas shall be sanitized with the prescribed disinfectant sanitizers and at such regular intervals as prescribed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Also, they were asked to ensure and organize necessary briefings and sensitization to their staff.
The order reads that the market may remain open and function only to ensure providing essential supplies.
Moreover, the Senior Superintendent of Police, all SDMs and Tehsildars shall ensure that this order is implemented in letter and spirit.
The order further reads that any individual causing obstructions to the officers and officials in discharging their duties or refusing to comply directions given in this order shall be prosecuted under Section 51 of the DM Act, 2005.
