Cooperative Department Kargil celebrates formation of 10,000 new cooperative societies

The Cooperative Department Kargil organised a special program to commemorate the inauguration of 10,000 new Multipurpose Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (M-PACS), Dairy, and Fishery Cooperative Societies by the Union Home and Cooperation Minister on December 25.

The event witnessed the participation of over 100 PACS members from various villages along with cooperative department staff. The Executive Councillor for Cooperatives, LAHDC Kargil, Er. Punchok Tashi, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, Registrar Cooperatives, UT Ladakh, Syed Sajjad Qadri, attended as guests of honor.

Dr. Zakir Hussain, Deputy Registrar of the Cooperative Department Kargil, delivered a detailed presentation showcasing the department's achievements, activities, and the registration of cooperatives across multiple sectors.

Additionally, the Nodal Officer PACS/ARC Kargil and the ARC Audit shared insights into PACS activities, registration processes, and auditing procedures in the district.

Registrar Cooperatives, Syed Sajjad Qadri, emphasized the importance of self-reliance among cooperative members and encouraged them to uphold high business standards. He assured continuous support to enhance cooperative operations and achieve their upliftment.

Deputy Commissioner Shrikant Balasaheb Suse highlighted the importance of hard work and self-sufficiency among cooperative members. He assured administrative support at all stages and encouraged collaboration with the Rural Development Department to enhance cooperative development. He also lauded the department’s dedication and achievements despite challenges like limited manpower.

Executive Councillor Punchok Tashi expressed satisfaction with the program's success and commended the Cooperative Department for its tireless efforts. He assured full support from LAHDC Kargil for the growth and sustainability of cooperative societies.
