CISF takes over security of Leh Airport
Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) took over the security of Kushok Bakula Rinpoche Airport, Leh on August 5.
The induction ceremony was organised at the KBR, Airport. M A Ganapathy, Special DG, Airport Sector, CISF; Captain, Raj K Mallick, ED (Security) AAI; Rajesh Ranjan, Director General, CISF; Umang Narula, Advisor, UT Ladakh; Deepam Seth, IG, ITBP, North West Frontier; Satish Khandare, IG, Ladakh were present.
Rajesh Ranjan, Director General, CISF said, “ It is a matter of great honour for us that we will be securing one of the strategically important airports of the country. Around 185 personnel will be designated for the security of the airport”.
Talking about the high altitude region and harsh climatic condition he said that the organisation will deploy personnel who are physically fit and can adapt to the environment. He assured that CISF will maintain professionalism and give their best.
Sonam Nurboo, Director, Airport Authority welcomed CISF and gave best wishes. Also, he appreciated and expressed gratitude to the paramilitary force and Police for securing the airport all these years.
He spoke about the importance of Leh airport.
Kushok Bakula Rinpoche Airport, Leh, Ladakh is the 64th airport in the country under the CISF security cover.
